Who’s Hiring – Top employers week of 11-1-10

Who’s Hiring is a weekly survey of companies showing the highest hiring activity for the week of 11/1/10.
The business service, hospitality, telecommunications, health care, transportation, banking and retail are the top industries currently hiring based on a survey of active job advertisements from the nation’s leading job boards.
Not only is this valuable for job seekers, but for business analysts, corporate strategists, marketers, salespeople, investment analysts, financial advisers, and others who are interested in companies experiencing growth. Despite the recession, these companies are all expanding.
Total Job Openings week of 11/1/10:
Business Service firms led hiring companies as IBM, Deloitte, ADP, Booz Allen, CSC and SAIC were actively staffing. Hospitality was next as Pizza Hut, Marriott, Cracker Barrel and Hilton continued heavy job advertisements.
Telecommunications was hiring with AT&T and Verizon still staffing actively. Health care continues in a strong recruiting mode as HCR ManorCare, Kaiser Permanente, Gentiva Health, UnitedHealth, Genesis Healthcare, Community Health Systems and Apria Health Care were top job advertisers.
UPS continued its holiday hiring season and remained on the top 10 hiring firms. Banking continued hiring as Bank of America, JPMorganChase and Wells Fargo were heavy advertisers. Retail rounds out the top of the list as Sears, Macy’s, Kmart, JCPenney, Lowe’s, Toys “R” Us, Pilot and RadioShack were in the top hiring firms.

Job Openings Added This Week – 11/1/10:
The business service, hospitality, telecommunications, retail, banking, defense and transportation verticals are the top industries with new job postings this week based on a survey of the nation’s leading job advertisements added during the past seven days for the week of 11/1/10.
Business service led new hiring advertisements this week as IBM, ADP, Booz Allen, Deloitte and CSC were included in the top job advertisers this week. Hospitality was next as Pizza Hut, Marriott, Friendly’s and Hilton advertised for jobs this week.
Telecommunications advertised for new positions as AT&T and Verizon were in the top firms adding advertisements for new hires this week. Retail continued holiday hiring as Macy’s, Lowe’s, and Carquest Auto Parts were searching for employees this week.
Banking continued staffing as Bank of America, Wells Fargo and JPMorgan Chase added advertisements this week. Defense was in the top companies adding advertisements this week as Northrup Grumman looked for workers.
UPS continued its holiday hiring push and was in the top 10 companies with new advertisements this week.
